  • In collaboration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Wu Family Academy, The Wu Family Academy is proud to announce the development of a new youth chorus as one of its Civic Youth Ensembles beginning the 2017-2018 season!

  • Join the Singers in the D, Concert Chorale, and Midtown Choirs as they perform throughout the Metro Detroit community. This eight-concert, three-week tour will feature performances at Noel Night, World AIDS Day, Cathedral Cultural Series, and collaborations with the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra.

  • On November 8, 2016, the Detroit Children's Choir was featured on CBS 62's "Eye on Detroit" segment. Hosted by WWJ Newsradio 950's Jackie Paige, "Eye on Detroit" looks at positive and unique stories about the city of Detroit. You can watch the segment here.

  • (DETROIT)– The Detroit Children's Choir, the only community-wide inclusive choral music program in metro Detroit serving children ages 8-14, has named John Joanette executive director and Eric Taylor artistic manager.

  • John Joanette serves as the Executive Director of the Detroit Children’s Choir.

    For more than three decades, John has successfully founded, directed and consulted with dozens of not-for-profit organizations in three states – Michigan, Indiana and Maine. His life work has focused on building strong coalitions and community involvement with fine arts organizations as well as agencies involved in numerous human service and civil rights causes.

  • Eric Taylor has been named artistic manager of the Detroit Children's Choir (DCC), the only community-wide inclusive choral music education program that serves children ages 8-14. Taylor comes to DCC from Notre Dame Marist Academy in Pontiac, where he was the vocal music director.

  • The Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC) will hold a 10th anniversary celebration on Saturday evening, Feb.27 at Andiamo Detroit Riverfront, 400 Renaissance Center.

  • DETROIT (October 20, 2015) – The Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC) has been awarded a grant of $22,500 from the State of Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The grant was awarded through the MCACA peer review process and was one of 559 applicants to compete for MCACA fiscal year 2016 funding.
