Support DCC on Giving Tuesday
The Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC) works with the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) and other Detroit charter schools to bring choral music education into schools that currently offer no such program. The DCC also operates its “Civic Choir,” an extracurricular program offering advanced vocal training to interested students in Metro Detroit. Students come together as an inclusive ensemble of young singers learning to use their voices to build community through song. The students also learn ear-training and sight-reading skills that help them become better musicians. Studies show that children who experience an active role in the arts also have a better sense of mental well-being, display a higher level of creativity, discipline, and learn leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives. The choir is not just about singing notes but growing minds and connecting as one.
Detroit Children’s Choir has 501(c)3 status, making all contributions tax-deductible. We welcome community members to become involved as friends and supporters of the program, which will demonstrate to the children how important it is for them to have music in their lives. Thank you for your support!
