Giving Tuesday 2021: Let’s come together to give more students the opportunity to experience joy through song

Thanks to our devoted supporters, the Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC) has survived the last 20 months, despite the pandemic. We are so excited to be “Reunited” with our students for “in-person” instruction this school year! It’s great to feel the energy around the room as the children work together in song. Here’s a short video showing students from Mark Twain School for Scholars in their very first day of rehearsal with our Artistic Director, Eric Taylor:

We are working to grow student participation beyond pre-pandemic numbers and continue our partnerships with Detroit schools and neighborhoods. However, still, much work is needed to achieve this goal. The DCC has set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to replenish its scholarship fund, so more students have an opportunity to experience joy through song.

On November 30, 2021, the world celebrates Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving and unity. We’d love it if you chose to support the Detroit Children’s Choir this year on Giving Tuesday or anytime during this Giving Season. Whether you decide to Give or help us to spread the word, you can support children in the performing arts right now.
